"My Mommy"

She was born Salome Paelma Ilaya on October 18, 1943 and it is her birthday today. She is now 64 years old My “Mommy”… that’s what we call her…met my Dad who is 19 years older than her and have three children namely Steve, Gordon, and Apollo, she never have a daughter.

What I can say about Mommy is she is a very beautiful woman, a very understanding mom yet she was strict and very disciplinarian. She is very friendly and loved by all our neighbors. If you visit my hometown and look for “Na Sally” in just a snap of finger someone will point you where we live. That’s how famous she is.

Another year have passed and we’ve celebrated her birthday again…and on the 1st day of the coming month we will visit her again…in her resting place. I really miss the sweetness of my Mom but wherever she is right now…I know that she knew that we love her very much.

Party Time!

Any reason for a party is a good reason to celebrate. Special affair likes wedding, birthday, anniversary, baptismal, etc. in a style simply in the mood for sharing a good time with those you care about and friends. It is one of the best ways to socialize and enjoy life. It is there where you meet relatives and friends whom you don't see for a very long time. Eating and drinking with them is a very good sight to see. Sharing stories, jokes, plans, its anything goes. The laughter and the songs...it goes with the air you breath. But remember, don't eat and drink too much.
Its bad for health!

What's in a name?

What’s in the name? Each and every one of us has a name for us to be recognized. But where did it come from? Did you ask your parents how they arrived at your name? For sure some get it in the calendar…the old way. Some get your name to their favorite artist whether local or foreign artist. Mine? My mother told me that my name came from Steve McQueen. Well, now I have children…5 kids!!! We all know that number 13 as what superstitious belief was “malas” or not good. But all of my kid names have 13 letters. And they are all a blessing to me. Now these are the stories behind their names:

GRETCHEN ESLEI = Gretchen came from my father-in-law’s name Graciano. While the “es” came from the start of my name “Steve” and the “lei” came from my wife’s name “Emilie”. I didn’t want it to be “Eslie” so I made it as “Eslei”.

ROCHENN GEYNIS =Rochenn came from my father’s name Nestor. If you will read Nestor backward it will be “Rotsen”. Geynis came from all the initial letter of my parents and parents-in-laws. The first 3 letters came for my parents-in-law. G is for Graciano, E is for Elilia, Y is for Yabut, the maiden name of my mother-in-law, the 2nd 3 letters came for my parents, N is for Nestor, I is for Ilaya, the maiden name of my mother and S is for Salome.

GRACIEN STEVIE =Gracien is so much understood that it came from my father-in-law’s name Graciano while Stevie came from my name Steve. He he he…I don’t want to have a Steve, Jr.

ROSSEIN YVETTE =Rossein come from her mother’s name Rosemarie. Got surprised? My first wife died so I got married again. If you spell backward my name Steve it will be Evets and that’s where I got Yvette without an S.

CHRISTIEN ROSS =To be more religious Christien came from Christ while Ross again came from my wife’s name Rosemarie.

If you will notice all of their names end with a sound of “yen” but it was purely accidental especially on my first 3 children. But when Rossein and Christien were born my first 3 kids wanted their name to sounds like their names. So…What can you say about the names of all my children? They are all unique in their own way. By the way I just found out that my German name is ETTIEN.

it's October!

Hey folks! it's October...and some or most of us are waiting for this month because October is the month where it ends in "ber" and "ber" is where the start of holiday season is fast approaching. Cool breeze in the air...Christmas bonus is coming...Yahoo! Most of us are now planning what we will buy...gifts for our family and friends,,,for ours? Maybe a new dress, shoes, watch, cellphone, ipod, laptop, car, house...anything! And for the lovers...I know they've already scheduled it this season...you know it's cold right here in the Philippines during this season... Hahaha! And for the kids you better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout I'm telling you why? Santa Claus is coming to town...they are already writing to Santa what gifts they would like to receive from him and Santa is really very busy in the north pole packing all those gifts. Anyway, just enjoy shopping and spending your money but wait! Try to save some extra bucks for the next day.
